Dr. Joseph A. Williams’ diversified work experience draws from both management and non-management positions. Although he spent most of his work experience at the management level, his view is that the best way to understand the behavior and feeling from a non-management perspective, is to actually work in a non-management position. Hence, to gain this work experience, he elected to work as a ramp service agent (supported byMachinists and Aerospace Workers Union) in the airline industry. He selected the airlines because of the many challenges this industry is facing trying to survive in a very competitive global market. This hands-on approach was used to gain insight into the non-management work environment and contributed significant knowledge to the organizational behavior field. As a management strategist, facing a great challenge is what motivates him to take on projects whether in the airline industry or any other industry.
